On our way back to Bangalore, we stopped by the city of Shravanabelagola to look at the huge, 18 meter tall statue Gomatheswara. We were there during the biggest pilgrimage period of the year. This was nice because the place was heavily decorated, but on the other hand they also erected a scaffolding behind the statue for the festivities, which detracted a bit from its beauty.
